Frog Island Iris

Frog-Island Iris, watercolorMom loved flowers.  At one point she and Dad photographed them for competition in their camera club.

After Mom passed away I found a stack of pictures from her garden that she had tucked away.  It was an exciiting time because I knew many of her favorites had been given to her by friends and family and these were the only pictures in existence.

Frog Island Iris is the first flower I painted for my Dad from “Mom’s Legacy to Me.”  This small painting was painted with watercolors.

Navajo Potter

Navajo Potter, mixed mediaHaving roots in Arizona has influenced many of my paintings.  Navajo Potter is intended to show that designs may not be simply created for enjoyment but may be able to tell a story of a lifetime of experiences.

Wavel Monastery, Krakow

Wawel Monastery, KrakowThe Wavel Monastery sits on a hill watching over the city of Krakow, Poland. It’s an active Franciscan Church/Monastery that houses and provides for the needs of the Monks.

I thought the building was majestic. Over the years it had bore witness to so many tragedies and yet still it stood strong and proud.

Painted using watercolors, the finished size is 11.5 x 17.5.

When my grandparents came for a visit, I packed my clothes put them into their car and somehow they and my parents let me return to Tucson. Thus began an adventurous life filled with many people and places including six years in Southern Germany. Affectionately I am called “Grammin Gypsy” by both grandchildren and great grandchildren.
